Have You Written Your Christmas Letter Yet?

By Michael Stelzner

With a newborn in the house, time has rapidly slipped by.

Just this Saturday, I drafted up my Christmas letter to friends and family (a tradition of ours).

An aside: I was tempted to replace Christmas letter with holiday letter in my headline here, but only for a microsecond (see Merry Christmas, NOT Happy Holidays).

I think it is healthy to look back on the year and reflect on what has occurred.

Did you write your letter yet? You like to write don’t you?

Even if you never send it, you should consider writing about the year.

Better yet, pull out those old Christmas letters and read them. You’ll be amazed how quickly we forget the milestones in our lives.

By the way, Merry Christmas to you and yours!

  • Mike, I don't mind when people wish me Merry Christmas. However, I do use "Have a nice Holiday" because not everyone celebrates Christmas. I do this out of respect for other people's observances, not because I'm anti-Christmas.
  • Hey Christina;

    The funny thing is that even Jewish people are not generally offended when someone wishes them a Merry Christmas.

    I speak from first hand experience as I was born Jewish :)

  • Happy holidays, Michael. I did write up a rip-roaring ride through our past year and sent it to our list of about fifty friends and family. About half of them are Jewish. Seven families live outside the U.S. A bunch are inter-faith, multi-racial, or multi-cultural couples. Some formally celebrate Solstice.

    Which is why I say "Happy Holidays."

    And since I do celebrate Xmas, along with the rest, thanks! Hope all of your holidays are merry and bright.
