White Paper Powerhouse TechTarget is Going Public

Today, TechTarget has announced its registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission for an initial public offering of its common stock.

For those of you who do not know, TechTarget acquired white paper repository and syndication site BitPipe some time back.

    The daily emails I get from TechTarget and BitPipe have enough ads to pay for way too many corporate perks, so maybe this has some legs. But the registration process and troubles reading, printing, and saving their whitepapers may induce me to take up short-selling.

    One of the reasons that companies go public is to use their acquired capital for further acquisition and growth.

    I wonder who their next acquisition is going to be, MarketingSherpa? Maybe some blogs?

    If they want to acquire MarketingSherpa, they’ll have to purchase MarketingExperiments which acquired Sherpa not too long ago.
