November Blogtips

By Michael Stelzner

BlogTippingEaston Ellsworth of BusinessBlogWire has started a monthly tradition called BlogTipping. It is honoring fellow bloggers with three compliments and one tip. So here we go:

CopyWriterUnderground: This is Tom Chandler’s cool blog on copywriting:

  1. Insightful posts.
  2. Easy and engaging writing.
  3. Focuses on ‘copywriter as marketing consultant.’

TIP: Tom, I would make your name more prominent.

Kancept: A play on the word “concept,” this site provides prototypes of futuristic products and asks readers to comment.

  1. Cool eye candy.
  2. Allows simple up or down feedback.
  3. Sparks the imagination.

TIP: Rather than asking “Would you buy this?,” I think something like, “Is this promising” might hold more interest. Most people would not buy a “Jet-turbine propelled luxury hovercraft.”

Seth Godin: Marketing wizard displaying steady food-for-thought. I like:

  1. Seth’s simple posts.
  2. His observations.
  3. His marketing savvy.

TIP: Seth, bring back the comments and hire a moderator–you can afford it.

That wraps up this month’s selections.

  • Hi Easton!

Thanks for stopping by AND for starting your great tradition.

How do you keep up with everything??

    Mike

  • Nice job, Mike. I didn't know the first two bloggers before!

Seth Godin totally should have comments on his blog! I was daydreaming about that recently at some point in my blog-obsessed workday ... right now it's like he talks at a pulpit and forces others to talk about him rather than to him, and it needs to feel more like he talks and then listens in a crowd. I know he's busy, but so is Scoble and he allows comments :).

  • Hey Tom - My pleasure. You have a great blog. - Mike

  • Nice concept. Thanks for the acclaim. (Or is it notoriety?) And the tip.
